Does Exiftool For Mac Work With Catalina. Feb 10, 2020 Catalina, the latest version of macOS, offers beefed-up security, solid performance, the ability to use an. The latest versions of PS and LR including the new ACR don't support the D7100 RAW files. Even the RC versions don't work. There is a 'quick and dirty' workaround. You can use the free software 'exiftool' to change the camera model inside the RAW file to 'Nikon D5200'. So the files should work with all the programs that support the D5200. May 18, 2021 You can get the command line utility ExifTool and script something with that: a bash script wrapped up as a drop-on application using Mac's Automator is how I've used it. I was trying to work out how to convert Catalina's Photos library use of uniquely named originals into a date folder structure with date-time-sequence named files.
First you must install ExifTool. If you have not done so already, follow theinstallation instructions for your platform beforeproceeding, then refer to the appropriate section below to get started usingExifTool.
Windows
After the basic ExifTool installation, you should now have a copy of theExifTool application on your desktop. (The name of theapplication is exiftool(-k).exe
, but whether or not you see the.exe
extension depends on your system settings.)
Note that if you are running an antivirus scanner, you may needto add an exception for the ExifTool app to be able to run it.
Extracting Metadata

Windows Drag and Drop
- Drag and drop a file or folder onto the
exiftool(-k)
icon onyour desktop.
After doing this, a black window will open with a list of all metadata in theimage. Make the window larger or use the scroll bar on the right side to seeany information which may have scrolled out of the window.
The '(-k)
' in the exiftool file name causes exiftool to pausewith the message '-- press any key --
' after extracting metadatafrom the file. When you are done viewing the metadata, press any key to closethe window.
