Installation for EOS Utility will begin. (If the User Account Control window appears, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.). The latest firmware download is revision 1.0.3, 10/25/05. The camera was released with support for Windows XP. It uses USB 2.0 ports. The most recent EOS Utility version for it seems to be version 2.7.3, 12/11/09, released for Windows Vista.

EOS Utility is a straightforward macOS application developed by Canon Inc. that aims to provide Canon EOS camera owners with all the necessary tools for for quick image transfer and for operating their cameras with the help of their computers.

Enables you to connect your Canon camera to your Mac

Evidently, in order to use EOS Utility, your Canon camera must be connected with your Mac and turned on. The utility enables you to connect your Canon EOS camera either with the help of the cable supplied with your camera, or via Wi-Fi (if your camera has Wi-Fi connection capabilities).

Note that, when any model other than the ones mentioned above is connected to your Mac, EOS Utility will take over the connection process.
