Download, install and play Rockstar games with the Rockstar Games Launcher. So what will normally happen is that you’ll associate the.jar file to open with java.exe, you double-click on the executable.jar, and a command prompt window will open for a split second and close, and the program does not launch. What we need to do is re-associate the.jar file with the Java binary. Download MinecraftLauncher.jar (1 MB). This is the jar launcher, it contains the version 1.5.2, and it based on the alpha launcher Download MinecraftLauncher.jar (1018 KB). This is the same launcher but instead its based on Beta launcher.   1. Click 'Install thinkorswim' above to automatically select the installer appropriate for your operating system and click 'Run'. The download may take anywhere from a couple of minutes to half an hour depending upon the speed of your Internet connection.
    Note: Depending on your security settings, you may be presented with dialogs asking for permission to continue. Confirm you want to proceed with the installation.
  2. Once the download has completed, the installation wizard should start automatically. Follow the instructions when prompted. Only advanced users should change any of the options from the defaults selected by the wizard
  3. Once you have clicked Done, the installation process is completed. You will now have an icon labelled thinkorswim that displays the thinkorswim logo on your desktop. If this is visible, the installation was completed successfully.

Note: You do not need to install any other software. A Java virtual machine is included with this download. If you are updating your 32-bit installation to 64-bit, the installer will automatically detect your old installation and retain your existing settings. No manual intervention is required.

The jar command is a general-purpose archiving and compression tool, based on ZIP and the ZLIB compression format. However, the jar command was designed mainly to package Java applets or applications into a single archive. When the components of an applet or application (files, images and sounds) are combined into a single archive, they can be downloaded by a Java agent (such as a browser) in a single HTTP transaction, rather than requiring a new connection for each piece. This dramatically improves download times. The jar command also compresses files, which further improves download time. The jar command also allows individual entries in a file to be signed by the applet author so that their origin can be authenticated. A JAR file can be used as a class path entry, whether or not it is compressed.
